Burglary Accused Dies in Police Custody, Inquiry Ordered
A 27- time-old man, detained in connection with multiple theft cases, failed at a health centre after reportedly falling ill in police guardianship in Ramban quarter, officers said on Wednesday.
The departed, Muhammad Abid of Thopal vill in Batote, was in guardianship for several days before he complained of uneasiness on Tuesday. He was rushed to Community Health Centre( CHC) Batote, where he latterly failed.
Following the incident, Ramban District Magistrate Baseer- ul- Haq Choudhary ordered a authoritative inquiry, appointing SDM Rizwan Asgar to probe the circumstances girding Abid’s death. The report is to be submitted within a week.
officers claimed Abid was a medicine addict with a history of theft- related offenses.
