Ganderbal, Feb 17: Ganderbal Police have scored a triumph in the fight for justice, securing convictions in three high-profile criminal cases, including the conviction of two rapists and a drug peddler.
In a case that has brought a sense of relief to the community, the court handed down a concurrent 14-year sentence to an accused charged with both rape and kidnapping. The individual will serve 7 years for each crime, marking a firm stance against such heinous offenses.
In another major victory, a man convicted of the rape and kidnapping of a minor girl was sentenced to an astounding 27 years in prison, with 20 years for rape and 7 years for the kidnapping charge.
